If you still have some questions or need more information please read on. Below is what to expect from booking a fire risk assessment and the assessor arriving at your premises.
What happens next if I want to arrange a fire risk assessment?
Once we receive a call or email we will arrange a suitable date and time for your fire risk assessment (we know that most of our customers want it as soon as possible or even after a visit from the local fire safety enforcement officer).
On the day of the assessment the fire risk assessor will arrive on time and will be presentable. If for any reason outside of the assessors control the arranged time cannot be reached, then you will be notified promptly and an alternative time agreed.
The fire risk assessment
Upon arrival, the assessor will request certain fire safety related documentation. These documents will be similar to these requested by your local fire safety enforcing officers. The documents will be gas and electrical installation certificates and testing and servicing documents. Fire alarm and emergency lighting testing and inspection paperwork. Records of fire drills and training that you may have conducted.
Also fixed and portable fire safety equipment testing and servicing paperwork will be requested. This list is not an exhaustive list, it is designed to offer you an insight to the nature of the documents that may be requested.
You may be thinking “I don’t have these documents” well that is why we are here, to work together to ensure that you meet your legal responsibilities regarding fire safety. We will offer a straight forward, no jargon plan to get you compliant, and to maintain and look to improve your fire safety culture. And the best part of it is, it’s all in the fixed fee, so no hidden extras from us.
During the assessment please feel free to ask the assessor any questions that you may have, or raise any concerns. You can accompany the assessor or wait until the end of the assessment to sit down and discuss the findings of the assessor’s walkaround. As part of the assessment, photographs will be taken to identify and reinforce any fire safety risks. If you prefer not to be present then the assessor will be happy to deal with your appointed representative (this happens quite often, and we understand that you are busy). Leave the compliance with us.
What happens after the fire risk assessment?
After the assessment is complete, the fire risk assessor will be available to present their findings to you or your representative. This is usually in the form of a relaxed chat. All of the fire safety points raised will be highlighted and a practical solution offered. Only when you are happy will the assessor leave to write up the assessment report. Nothing in the written report will surprise you, as you will have had the information verbally at the end of the assessment.
Once payment has been received the report will be released and dispatched using Royal Mail signed for. If you need it sooner we can personally drop it around, or send it digitally. The fire risk assessment report is an important legally required document. It will form the basis of fire safety at your business premises. This document will definitely be requested by a fire safety enforcing officer.
Thats it from us – over to you. Please contact us if you require any further information and to arrange your local fire risk assessment wirral.
